This is the result of the partnership signed between Nanohub and De Rigo Refrigeration, a leading company in the commercial refrigeration sector, with products designed and manufactured exclusively in Italy. The partnership has seen the use in De Rigo’s fruit and vegetable counters of Nanohub’s patented photocatalytic technology for the control and elimination of ethylene, responsible for the ripening of fruits and vegetables, which offers truly amazing results.

The R&D team of De Rigo Refrigeration, after a period of accurate tests carried out in its laboratories, has mounted this filter on the fruit and vegetable counters of a selection of shops, both new openings and retrofits, with interesting test results already after the first weeks of use.

The data collected in fact show:

• More vitamin-packed and long-lived fruit due to reduced free radicals and consequently less oxidation of vitamins
• Up to 30% less waste and reduced storage emissions
• Reduction in physiopathologies such as apical rot, splitting and ripening defects or uneven ripening

Is it possible to slow down the ageing of fruit and vegetables without using refrigerators or artificial preservatives?
